Belgian Army 1914
Strategy rating :

Special Rule
Franc-tireurs
When Germany invaded it was not expecting any Belgian resistance. Some German officers thought the Belgians would be lining the roads of the German advance. When receiving fire many German units frequently panicked and fired randomly, causing casualties among their own troops which were then blamed on Belgian civilians.
Units with this rule cause German units (after the first shot of a single Belgian unit) on a 3+ to fire once on its own units.
Command Range :
All command groups in a 1914 Belgian Army have a 12” Command Range.
INFANTRY BATAILLON – 1914
The infantry consisted of regiments of line infantry(infanterie de ligne), rifles (chasseurs à pied) and grenadiers (grenadiers). There were differences in uniform but not in use. Totally unprepared for war and dressed in 19th century finery, the Belgian Army fought hard against the German Juggernaut. Pushed back they tenaciously held on to the last part of Belgium on the river Ijzer.
